Brouwershoek (Brewer's Corner) in Beerlegem, Zwalm
Corner Beerlegemsebaan 66 – Oudenweg, Beerlegem
Brouwershoek is located in the rural heart of Beerlegem and is the final piece of a horseshoe-shaped property that grew from modest beginnings in 1885 at the intersection of the provincial road between Ghent and Zottegem and from the provincial road to the valley of the Munkbosbeek. Brouwershoek is directly opposite the village church in Beerlegem. The property is an old brewery/farm with the director’s residence. Beer was brewed and sold from the site until 1952.
The Brouwershoek name was given to the property by the current owners.
For sale/rent - Renovation of the demolished brewery into 2 apartment buildings with 4 residences and a multifunctional space
Brouwershoek is located along the Oudenweg, which runs from the provincial road to the valley of the Munkbosbeek. With the pending renovation and new construction project, Brouwershoek will get a new dimension that links to its historic past.
When designing the new complex, architect Eddy François respected the existing structures of the building and the village centre, which is primarily reflected in the roof structure and the relationships between the various structures along the Oudenweg. The space covers the complete area of the old brewery. |
